Hyderabad: The BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) party is organizing a massive dharna in Nalgonda today to protest the Congress government's failure to implement promises made to farmers. BRS leaders have accused the Congress government of betraying farmers by not fulfilling the commitments made during the elections. Recently, a farmers' protest was held in Shabad over similar issues.
The BRS has launched this farmers' dharna program, demanding immediate implementation of the promises made to farmers. The event will take place at the Nalgonda Clock Tower, with BRS Working President KTR and former ministers also participating. The dharna will be held under the banner of "Jung Siren" by the BRS.
As per court orders, the dharna will be held from 11 AM to 2 PM. During the protest, the government will be questioned about the loan waiver for farmers, the Farmer Assurance Scheme, and the investment support that should have been provided in three installments. Originally scheduled for January 21, the dharna was postponed due to concerns about maintaining law and order. The High Court has now granted permission for the protest to take place on January 26, from 11 AM to 2 PM.
Additionally, BRS Working President KTR has called for a statewide tribute to all Gandhi statues on January 30. Speaking at the Telangana Bhavan on Monday, he criticized Congress for making 420 promises over 420 days. He urged the "duplicate Gandhis" in Congress to act on their promises and asked BRS supporters to submit petitions to the statues of Mahatma Gandhi, ensuring the success of this program.
