Ongoing MLC Election Counting in Telugu States
The counting of votes for MLC (Member of Legislative Council) elections in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana has begun. Elections for 6 MLC seats, including Teacher and Graduate constituencies, were held on February 27. The counting started at 8 AM, and the results for the Teacher MLC elections are expected by evening, while the Graduate MLC results may take 2-3 days. Tight security is in place at the counting centers across the two states.

Hyderabad: The counting process for MLC (Member of Legislative Council) votes in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana has begun. The counting started at 8 AM today. The authorities opened the strong room in the presence of candidates and their agents. Initially, the ballot papers are being bundled, and this process is expected to continue until around 12 PM. After that, the actual counting process will begin. The results for the Teacher MLC elections are expected to be declared by the evening. However, the results for the Graduate MLC elections may take 2 to 3 more days to be finalized. Tight security arrangements have been made at the counting centers.
Elections for MLC seats were held on February 27 in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In Andhra Pradesh, elections were held for 2 Graduate and 1 Teacher MLC seat, while in Telangana, elections were conducted for 2 Teacher and 1 Graduate MLC seat. A total of 70 candidates contested for 3 MLC seats in Andhra Pradesh, while 90 candidates competed for 3 MLC seats in Telangana. The counting for these 6 MLC seats is underway today. The candidate who secures more than 50% of the valid votes will be declared the winner.
The counting for the Karimnagar-Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad Graduate constituency and the Teacher constituency is taking place at the Ambedkar Indoor Stadium in Karimnagar. For the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teacher constituency, the counting is being conducted at the warehouse godown in Nalgonda. On the other hand, the counting for the North Andhra Teacher constituency is happening at Andhra University in Visakhapatnam, while the counting for the West Godavari District Graduate constituency is taking place at the Vatluru CRR Engineering College in Eluru. The counting for Krishna-Guntur Graduate constituency is happening at AC College in Guntur.
